Winter Blues and Colds


  • 6-8 teaspoons lavender oil
  • 2 teaspoons dried St. John's wort
  • 3 cups water
  • Honey, sugar or other sweetener

To drive away winter blues, prepare a lavender bath, and a St. John’s wort tea.

For the lavender bath, boil approximately 2 cups of water, add six to eight teaspoons of the lavender into the water, and remove from heat. Cover the pot, and let sit for about 10 minutes. Strain the herbs, and pour the infusion into your bath water.

Before you slip in your healing bath, prepare your St. John’s wort tea. Gather 2 teaspoons of St. John’s wort, and 1 cup boiling water. Remove the water from the heat, and put in the St. John’s wort. Let this soak for 10 minutes. Add sugar, honey, or other sweetener to your preferred taste. Drink the tea mixture, and soak in your bath for approximately 15 minutes, and relax.
