Prayer to See Sacred Surroundings

This time in which I find myself is no less sacred
than the times of the Ancestors when the laws were laid down.
This place in which I find myself is no less sacred
than the circles of stone beneath faraway skies.
I pray to all the beings that dwell in this world,
to stone and tree, to waves and breezes,
to person and beast, to deities and dust motes:
do not let me forget.
Keep my eyes open
to the sacred that surrounds me
and in which I live.
