• Catnip

To help protect your cat from fleas, place a few drops of catnip oil in his/her bed, or sleeping area.

You can also sprinkle dried catnip in the area, but you should use caution when doing this. It depends on how your cat reacts to dried catnip. Some cats will automatically begin to eat it, while others will start sniffing, and inhaling it. If they show signs of inhaling the herb, you should remove all pieces of the dried herb from the area, and only use the oil, as asphyxiation can occur easily when powder or tiny bits of the herb is inhaled by the cat in large quantities.

To be cautious, it is encouraged to use the oil.
