Ease Irritable Bowel

Needed:

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon dried valerian root
  • Sweetener of your choice

To combat irritable bowels, or an upset stomach, you can prepare a cup of valerian root tea to settle your sour stomach. To do this, boil approximately 1 cup of water, and remove from the heat. Then add one teaspoon of dried valerian root into the water. Cover the pot, and let sit for about 15 minutes. Strain the tea, and discard the used herbs. Sweeten to your preference.

Note: You should use caution when preparing and drinking this tea, as pets may be strongly drawn to the smell of valerian. You should not let your pets digest this tea. Avoid if you are pregnant or nursing. Do not administer to children or pets. This is a very strongly scented and powerful herb, for which Valium has its origins. Use in moderation.
